BAREENA AGM PRESIDENTS REPORT
Dear Members
The Bareena AGM will be held on Wednesday the 5th of October 2011 at 7.30 pm

The Clubs finances remain in a positive position thanks to Jim Robertson, David Mortimer & ‘Pax Lambert and their sound financial stewardship throughout the year, sadly however our membership numbers have taken a tumble with 2011 senior A memberships 20% down ,students 50% and Jnrs 30% down. Our club will struggle to operate as we know it without a turnaround of membership numbers, the committee urge all members to attend the AGM for an open discussion on ways to attract new members and maintain the clubs financial viability. In the meantime please encourage your friends to the club, our wonderful location, friendly membership, and at near half the price of our nearest competitor at Manly, we are terrific value!

I would like to thank Jeff Carroll for his management of the day to day operation of the club as well as his management of the session times.

Our Saturday Afternoon comp team were runners up during the summer comp, congratulations to Angela Fong- Clark, Carolyn Gibbons, Fiona Robinson, Jamie Crooks, Rod Moses, Peter Brew & Ross Mclean. Anyone who is interested in playing for the next comp please contact Jeff

Our junior teams playing in the Saturday Morning mixed competitions managed by Marc & Vicki Dragan continue to shine, with Bareena fielding the largest number of teams on the northern beaches .The School holiday kids camps run by Oliver Cordell also continue to grow, an important opportunity as potential members, both children and parents are introduced to Bareena

The Wednesday morning Ladies comp at Bareena has also grown over the past 18 months, run by Leisa Barry & Viv Mclean, if you are interested in joining the ladies please contact Jeff.

The Club Championships have progressed through the round robins , with finals due to be held this weekend October 2nd , if you would like to see some great tennis come along this Sunday from 9 am starting with the men’s singles with Peter Fysh taking on Paul Kernaghan followed by the doubles and mixed teams .

Resurfacing of courts 1, 2 & 3 will take place in January 2012, with courts 4& 5 now planned for 2014

GOLF at Manly Golf Club, 9 holes and dinner are booked for Friday the 25th November from 3 pm places are very limited, please contact Jeff if you are interested.
As this is definitely my last year as the club president along with some other committee due to retire, I would urge members to get involved with the committee; we meet every 2nd month and without members involvement the club cannot continue the standard we all currently enjoy, please help .
